The UCalgary Operetta Company is very pleased to present one of the most iconic works of American musical theatre in the past century this coming January. A cornucopia of sly politicians, moralizing do-gooders, rapacious con artists and other memorable characters, this modern fable sums up the very best elements of a Broadway legend: a tuneful score replete with much-loved musical theatre standards, vaudevillian choreography and plenty of humour. This timeless work will be produced by a cast of over 45, with a supporting 26-piece pit orchestra.

The University of Calgary Operetta Company has been presenting full-length musical theatre and opera performances since 2007, utilizing a unique community theatre-style collaborative model that allows artists from a variety of backgrounds the opportunity to participate in the production and performance of a full-scale work of musical theatre. Past shows produced by the company include West Side Story (2009), Miss Saigon (2010) and Titanic: The Musical (2011).
